Northern Green Frog (Rana clamitans melanota) on Red Cliff Road
Photograph info: This photograph was taken a few weeks ago during a very rainy autumn afternoon in Tinicum Township, about 15 minutes south of Durham Township. Mr. Frog held his pose for nearly ten minutes as I waded through the creek, eventually sitting in the water to get this shot. The humongo version is full of detail. Camera settings and post-processing: Shot with the Canon EOS 5D Mark II Thanks for your patience between postings. I've been taking lots of photos but haven't had enough time to post them here. Plenty to come! Thank you for visiting Durham Township! --Kathleen Comments
Rain? Around here? No way! Welcome back, we've missed you and we look forward to you new photos! You are so very correct, the humongo has a ton of detail. Mr frog is just hanging out with lovely green strip on his face. The leaves offer a nice color contrast. Must have been pretty funny to see you sitting in the creek! And my thinks I'm nuts! Posted by Wayne Woodruff on December 2, 2009 7:09 PMYou have the right spirit to wade into the water and get right down there to get the right shot of the lovely frog. This is a perfect picture. Posted by Technobabe on December 2, 2009 7:26 PMWonderful copper tones Kathleen, but I don't take any green lip from frogs. JPH, can we have a sonnet here before somebody croaks? This really is beautiful Kathleen, the frog is so clear but also really nicely blending in the with background. Posted by Miles on December 4, 2009 6:14 AMGreat to see a fresh image. Love the frog looking into his own little pond, surrounded by all the autumn colours is perfection. Posted by ROB on December 5, 2009 4:39 PMAny girl who'd sit in a creek to get a good shot of a frog deserves a prince! (Getting into the mud in order to shoot the pigs was a beautiful thing too!) A shame have no documentary crew on hand to capture the amphibious photographer in creative process. Alas. Posted by david tinnon on December 6, 2009 1:24 AMEverything was said already. Fantastic ribbit photo ribbit ! ;) Posted by desfocado on December 7, 2009 1:12 PMKnown to have waded in the mud with a hog, Not a big fan of frogs, but this shot is really good. I can't imagine your posture as you worked on it.
