Through the Car Windshield After a Thunderstorm, 9:00 p.m.
Photograph info: This photograph was taken last night. After a thunderstorm passed we jumped into the car and drove around to watch the mist rising from the roads and fields through the colors of twilight. I guess I'd have to call this an impressionistic shot since it's taken through a very dirty windshield and is a bit technically unsound with noise in the sky and shadows. Nice colors, nice moment. Camera settings and post-processing: Shot with the Canon EOS 5D Mark II Thank you for visiting Durham Township! --Kathleen Comments
Impressionistic indeed... But it works great for me with this patch of mist in your headlights... Great work. Minimalist. Posted by Mirko Herzner on June 27, 2009 3:52 AMBeautiful saturated color. Posted by Gator on June 27, 2009 10:18 AMThe similar colors in your previous shots would make this a nice framed series. Very pretty! Posted by Cameron on June 27, 2009 10:28 AMThe storm subsides as we near the end of the Asphalt Rainbow, and the obligatory "pot o' gold" begins to solidify before us from the very mist of our dreams. And so, once again, The Digital Countess of Durham Township distributes a (visual) Stimulus Package, offering hope to a floundering spiritual economy. Perhaps a bail-out plan for the Crayola Factory is in the works. (You might give them some new colors, like the ones you share with us.) Posted by david tinnon on June 27, 2009 12:30 PMThe storm has passed, fading light lingers, Kathleen , Very clear, doesn't look like this photo was taken through a car window. Good job!!! Lovely photo. Posted by Technobabe on June 27, 2009 8:44 PMGreat night shot. Love this image. Posted by Preston on June 27, 2009 9:18 PMBeautiful through car window shot! Like the warm yellow colour your headlights creates on the road. Posted by pernilla on June 28, 2009 3:09 AMIt is as though an apparition appeared in the mist and disappeared just as you snapped the shot leaving behind a golden aura. Posted by Laurie on June 28, 2009 8:27 AMBonjour, Beautiful, as always. I've noticed you have been shooting the 24-70mm a lot lately. The shots are stunning. Bokeh and vibrancy are as powerful as smooth and striking as ever. How do you feel about that lens? Peace, Glen Posted by Glen Goffin on July 1, 2009 11:55 AMMysterious and a little creepy. Very nice. Feels more like some of the forbidden interiors I see when "urban exploring" in New York than a typical landscape seen here. Posted by Chris on July 1, 2009 4:47 PMVery nice photo!! Posted by Shams on July 3, 2009 4:48 PMIs that David Lynch at the side? Posted by Richard Booth on July 3, 2009 9:41 PMI love this picture, it feels very dreamy and mystic to me. Posted by Lindsay on July 4, 2009 3:06 AMKathleen , beautiful colors ! Posted by Xavier Rey on July 4, 2009 12:39 PMWhy did the apparition cross the road? Posted by david tinnon on July 4, 2009 2:15 PMA simple yet atmospheric shot. Posted by Simon C on July 26, 2009 8:48 AMthe colors are pretty impressive seeing as how it was shot thru the windshield. did you have to do much post processing? either way, lovely moment, indeed.
