Tulips at Rose Tree Park

Photograph info: This photograph was taken Sunday in Rose Tree Park, about 90 minutes south of Durham Township in Delaware County, Pennsylvania. The park is 120 acres of heaven in a very busy area - a great place to go for a run or walk, or just lie in the sun - and there's a free summer concert series in the park's gazebo.

This image is a surprise Mother's Day gift, so hush-hush for now if you recognize the subject! :)

Camera settings and post-processing: Shot with the Canon EOS 5D and the Canon EF 24-70mm f/2.8L lens at 24mm, ISO 200, f/2.8, 1/1600s. This is a camera JPEG - curves adjustments for contrast and saturation.

Thank you for visiting Durham Township!

With a beautiful tulip clasp in each of his hands,
Do his eyes betray what michief he plans?
Or is it more a look of wonder and awe?
It's anyones guess. You make the call.

priceless expression... But you know J. Cash's Starkville experiences, don't you?

Posted by Markus Spring on April 28, 2009 11:02 AM

Markus Spring: LOL, yes, I know Johnny Cash's "Starkville City Jail" -- but these are tulips, not dandelions, and we were out there way before curfew! :D

Definately the KCDT "Amazing Smile Maker" award winner. Does he have an agent yet? A Hallmark card, a florist's billboard, a....But if this were the tiniest bit cuter, you could be charged with sacrinism. At it is, I'm inclined to accept this young man's portrait because, as a child, I had the same barber...had a slight limp....right leg as I recall....and you continue to amaze too, by coming up with these shots!

I know that place. :) I've gone there many times for bird watching when it's raptor migration. One of the best places I've been to for bird watching in the area!

One of the cutest kids I have ever seen! It should be in a commercial for that ice cream.

a so delicate portrait... il m'a volé un large sourire alors que j'écoutais en même temps Yann Tiersen me parler de mélancolie et de bonheur...

One of your cutest portraits ever. :)))

We all know that children are in constant motion. To have captured this moment is amazing to me. You can see his slight shrug as he is inhaling the fragrance. The light on his shoulder and the rosy cheeks would do Vermeer proud.

Hi Kathleen.....this Mom was very happy to receive this precious gift and all of the other shots on Mother's Day! You have captured everything about him that gives us so much joy every day! Just can't believe you could slow him down long enough! I am honored to have my own Kathleen Connelly originals!

Very nice! I stumbled upon your photos some time ago and love every one of them! I am originally from PA and was delighted to see Rose Tree Park. It was a riding school when I was a kid. I must check it out when I go back.
Have you ever been to Ridley Creek State Park? that has some nice photo ops too.
thanks for all your wonderful pics!
