Stuck
Photograph info: This photograph was taken today - we had a late winter snowstorm over the last 24 hours which left a foot of snow in Durham Township. Of course, no school and lots of fun hiking and sledding, too. Camera settings and post-processing: Shot with the Canon EOS 5D Mark II

This is VERY one of a kind:) Were you waist deep too?:) Thanks for sharing!! Posted by Tiffany B. on March 2, 2009 11:26 PMI love this, Kathleen. You've captured a great childhood memory. I think my labrador enjoyed the snow more than my kids did today. As soon as she saw all the snow, she got so excited, she literally ran laps around the entire yard. And if that wasn't enough to tire her out, she then tried to chase the end of my snow shovel as we cleared out the driveway. It was a nice snow to be out in. Posted by Russ Devan on March 2, 2009 11:49 PMBeautiful picture! Texture of the sky and ice is beautiful! Is this an HDR image? Posted by Abhijit Dharmadhikari on March 2, 2009 11:52 PMFantastic open skies and lots of white snow! Tiffany B.: At one point, yes! :) Abhijit Dharmadhikan: Not HDR. (I've never used HDR on any of my images.) It was extremely bright when I shot this, so I used a circular polarizing filter on the lens to cut some of the glare. Posted by Kathleen on March 3, 2009 7:33 AMLove it...very cute moment. He looks like he's saying..."A little help her? Please? Anyone?" We were told to be prepared for at least 8 inches and up to 14...we got maybe 5 and that is being generous. Oh well...School was canceled in anticipation of the storm...but my 16 year old, the last one living home, chose to sleep in rather than romp in the snow...teenagers! Kathleen , LOL great shot! Yes we got a nice dumping of snow too! I wish I had a child to toss into the snow tho lol. Cuteeee! Posted by jody on March 3, 2009 10:22 AMVery nice, I like the arrangement and lighting. Great! Posted by THOMAS WINZER on March 3, 2009 12:25 PMLooks like someone had a little accident ;-) Great shot! Posted by Claus Petersen on March 3, 2009 2:38 PMgood push. Such a cool and funny shot! :-) Posted by Judith Polakoff on March 3, 2009 10:02 PMoh, how fun. our snow wasn't nearly enough for this. :) Posted by Otto K. on March 4, 2009 10:03 AMstunning image, you have really captured the fun! Posted by chris on March 4, 2009 4:18 PMYep, that's what it looked like. The nice thing about a snow like this at this time of year is that it falls, looks beautiful and then disappears quickly. It going to hit 60 by the weekend. By the way, I'm just up the road in Hellertown. Posted by edvatza on March 4, 2009 9:55 PMDon't you just love the new 5D2? It handles just about every lighting condition with such ease. Posted by Frank Armstgrong on March 5, 2009 8:33 AMGreat use of wide angle, with the polarizer helping on the wonderful colors. Lovely picture! Posted by Averi on March 5, 2009 4:12 PMNo bumps and bruises here...looks like a very soft landing. Great capture. Posted by Suzanne on March 5, 2009 5:44 PMGood to know about the filter for the glare Kathleen. Many thanks for sharing that! Posted by PhotoContestKid on March 5, 2009 6:51 PMBeautiful as always, Kathleen Posted by Scott on March 5, 2009 7:24 PMHaving just watched an interesting photography documentary I have concluded that your images are very similar in subject to that of Sally Mann; though of course not quite so controversial. I like her work and will probably purchase her book "Immediate Family". I like the documentary style both you and Sally have. Posted by mooch on March 15, 2009 5:26 PMMooch: Thanks - will look up her work. Not familiar with it. Posted by Kathleen on March 16, 2009 2:50 PMSpeak!
