Raubs Island, 8:34 a.m.
Photograph info: This photograph was taken the same morning and from the same location as the last two posts. It was the first of three over a 26 minute time span. It's funny how tiny the sun looks in some circumstances. I didn't realize it at the time but there was a big blob of water on the lens when I took these shots. You can see it pretty clearly in this photo (center, top third) and in the first photo I posted (the haziness of the left red glove). I don't think it had much of an impact on the photos, (maybe added some tangible atmosphere to the shots, ha) but it was a good reminder to keep the lens cloth handy in damp weather. Camera settings and post-processing: Shot with the Canon EOS 5D Thank you for visiting Durham Township! --Kathleen Comments
Wonderful photo. Like the beginning of a fairy tale... Sunny greetings Posted by J. L. T. on November 5, 2008 3:13 AMSort of haunting, yet... soothing. Beautiful. Shrouded in mystery begins the day new Dreamy an moody. Almost like painting. Posted by Tero on November 5, 2008 6:36 AMBeautiful misty image of the Delaware, Kathleen. I also like the placement of the tree branches in the upper foreground. Posted by Russ Devan on November 5, 2008 8:30 AMI do like the mystery of the fog shrouded background and there's a certain elegance that branch.......simple elements to create a strong, emotive image. Great shot. Posted by Mike Blanchard on November 5, 2008 8:32 AMI am SOO inspired by your photography! I see so much manipulated photography out there, and I appreciate, greatly, your talent. I look over your photos often. And now, I want my husband to do his residency in Pennsylvania...I have fallen in love with this area, through your photos! Thanks for sharing! Posted by Vanessa Suzanne Zinke on November 5, 2008 1:48 PMWonderful photo, I love the colours and this dreamy atmosphere. Posted by otilius on November 6, 2008 11:50 AMThis is such a beautiful image. The atmosphere is so quiet and lovely. I could find myself easily losing track of time here. Posted by Laurie on November 6, 2008 1:37 PMLike a well varnished old European Masterpiece....not a bad job for a young Irish lady in the New World. (Use the Rembrandt filter?) Posted by david tinnon on November 6, 2008 3:16 PMFantastic. It's a great photo. Posted by Basilio on November 7, 2008 2:15 PMLove the dream-like mood...and quality of light. Exquisite image. Posted by Marcie on November 7, 2008 2:52 PMYour photos bring so much peace into my life. Posted by Rich on November 8, 2008 11:56 AMI love the dramatic shift from top to bottom. Beautiful! It's like you were there at the dawn of time. Posted by martie on November 10, 2008 10:48 PMWhat a beautiful sight ! Posted by atzu on November 16, 2008 12:55 PMthis one i like alot - very moody - good work! Posted by minimodi on November 17, 2008 3:24 PMThere is this little highlight in the lower right. If it is the reflection of the nearest star, why does it not fall on a line connecting the viewer's eye to the star as one would expect for a mirror image? Don't get me wrong, it's a great squiggle of a highlight, more like a brush stroke....just seems too far to the right, but why? Posted by david tinnon on December 6, 2008 3:04 AMSpeak!
