Raubs Island, 9:00 a.m.

Photograph info: This photograph was taken last Friday morning when we had the rare combination of day off from school and a lingering fog over the Delaware River that lasted until 11:00 a.m.

Raubs Island is in the middle of the Delaware River about four miles north of Durham. It's been accessible by foot for a few months due to low water levels.

Camera settings and post-processing: Shot with the Canon EOS 5D and the Canon EF 24-70mm f/2.8L lens at 24mm, ISO 400, f/9, 1/500s. Curves adjustments, color balancing.

Thank you for visiting Durham Township!

Great timing... the morning mist is perfect, and the composition is spot on!

This is simply a perfect photo - subject matter, composition, lights, colours all work together amazingly. I could imagine this also in black and white.

I've been silently visiting Durham Township for a long time, but must speak up. Love your work. This image is perfectly composed and lit. The colored hat and gloves add a whimsical feel.

Beautiful composition! The bright green hat and red gloves really set the child apart from the misty background. Very nice!

That misty background is truly awesome. And I love the way your son always seems to be COMPLETELY into his play! :)

That's one of the best pics I've seen in years... and I'm a part time photographer and full time artist that sees much good stuff.
Just beautiful... you hit this one perfect.
Keep up the great work... I wouldn't be surprised that if you wanted to, you could sell prints of your photos all over the world. You are that good. I love this shot. G. Van Ess, Green Bay, Wi.

Wonderful convergence of X-man, sky, water, fog and receding shore....the adventure is endless. (So then are the thanks!)

love the way the colour of the clothing matches the colour of the leaves and sky and how the "V" of the arms and legs matches the "V" formed by the background. great composition.

This is beautiful. The composition is perfect, the atmosphere is wonderful, and your timing is impeccable.

wow
I like the color
I like the composition
the balance between the standing landscape and the jumping children, the way the children fill the hole and make the connection between the 2 part of the landscape.
Really make me think of an assumption of Henri cartier Bresson "the decisive moment"
I'm not the first neither the last to tell you that I really like what you are doing.
So just Bravo

The mighty Atlas of his time, balancing the world on his shoulders as the fog of confusion and uncertainty swirls about him.

For his generation to succeed, he must bridge the gap between our divergent cultures and find sure footing for the future.

Take your vitamins and eat your vegetables, young sir, because in a few, short days, we are going to add even more weight to the burden your still developing frame must carry.
