Cut Wheat Field
PHOTOGRAPH INFO Thank you again for all the kind & warm expressions of sympathy on the passing of my Dad. I really appreciate everyone's support. This photo was taken 25 minutes after the photo in the previous post, after the sun & the rainbow had disappeared. Great detail in the large version. Camera settings and post-processing: Shot with the Canon EOS 5D Thank you for visiting Durham Township! --Kathleen Comments
I feel this is more artistically beautiful than anything you've posted in a while. I love it. And you have all my sympathy. Be strong. Posted by Michael George on September 15, 2008 2:25 AMThis is a really beautiful shot, the boy definitely adds something to the shot. Posted by Laura on September 15, 2008 2:34 AMThe golden color of the cut field is really amazing with the vivid green. The youthful curiosity pours from this and I find myself wishing I could also be in the field looking at what he sees on the ground. Posted by Laurie on September 15, 2008 6:46 AMWow, you're not kidding about the larger version. The stems of warm gold and the lush green really stand out. Wonder what the boy finds so interesting? Lovely as always. Posted by Noreen on September 15, 2008 6:57 AMStunning! The gold tones and light are wonderful..and the boy adds a sense of scale..giving us a sense as to the size of the wheat field. Excellent!!! Posted by Marcie on September 15, 2008 8:17 AMThe Wall Street Song (Lehmans's Lament) went to work but the office was gone Thanks endless for your prospective, kcdt stock is always up. Posted by david tinnon on September 15, 2008 5:44 PMGreat color as always. The boy curled up reminds me of a new birth ... the upcoming growth after the harvest. It's almost sad in a way, sad that the wheat is gone, but a new field will rise again. Nice work Kathleen. Posted by Hren | Design on September 16, 2008 12:48 AMCrouching youth in field I have been visiting your blog for sometime and I really love the beautiful photographs you take. They are inspirational and feel as though time is standing still(I guess in a photo it is). They make me want to visit this little township. Thank you for sharing such a wonderful talent. Posted by carla on September 16, 2008 3:59 PMOpps! Last line of peom posted should have been different. I couldn't read my own rough draft. Corrected poem should read..... Crouching youth in field (my son challanged me to write a haiku. I think this now makes it correct.) Posted by JPH on September 16, 2008 9:13 PMLove your work Kathleen. I am not a photogarpher although I inspire to become one some day and your blog is making me impatient as to when that day will come :) I can't say whether it's the light or angles or focus or what technical aspect of your photography that puts the magic in it. But what you have made out of this story; this story of kathleen and this little town is one I would not have liked to be told to in any other way. Posted by Zain on September 18, 2008 10:59 AMSo sorry to hear about your Dad - you are in my thoughts and prayers. A beautiful blog always - and today's photo is no exception. I love the richness of the colours. Best wishes Love the colours, they really jump off the screen! Great image Kathleen. Posted by Craig Wilson on September 19, 2008 4:28 AMsimply stunning... A seed that if planted deep enough, given time to take root and the opportunity to develop fully, can provide us with the means to live at peace with this world.
