Honeybees
PHOTOGRAPH INFO This photo was taken on Friday at the same farm as the previous photo. These are Scott's bees. :) The larger version is full of detail. (Not sure why Jerry Seinfeld didn't study up on honeybees before he made Bee Movie last summer - worker bees are all female!) Post-processing: Shot with the Canon EOS 5D Thank you for visiting Durham Township! -- Kathleen Comments
Simply wonderful, They are like alive. Stop working only for a moment. And the variety of brown. Awesome. Posted by Mistina on April 28, 2008 5:12 AMA bustling city lives within the hive Maybe you should add the disclaimer that "subjects depicted are not actual size." very cool! am going to assume you were very well protected to take this photo. :) amin: I was wearing a Tyvec jumpsuit and a pith helmet covered in netting. Closer!? When I start shooting through an electron microscope I'll let you know! :) Posted by Kathleen on April 28, 2008 2:32 PMDo I detect a little camera shake here. Really great talent love your eye for photos. Posted by Wojo on April 29, 2008 10:10 AMThis is more bees than I saw all last year, however our fruit trees were full of bees with the first warm days this year.....so nice to see their back(s.) Any more BEEG ideas young lady? (Not that I need to ask!) Posted by david tinnon on May 1, 2008 1:37 AMGreat photo! Macro is so hard to do handheld, did you use a tri-pod for this? The DOF on macros is so finicky and it makes such little difference whether shoot at f2.8 or f16, at macro distance it's still so tight either way. Posted by Laurie on May 2, 2008 8:35 AMLaurie: This is handheld. Wanted to get used to the idea first... next time I'll bring the tripod. :) Posted by Kathleen on May 8, 2008 7:26 PMSpeak!
