Clumber Spaniel (Westminster Kennel Club Show, NYC)
PHOTOGRAPH INFO I was at the Westminster Kennel Club Show at Madison Square Garden in New York City on Monday and Tuesday (and got snowed in on Tuesday night). I've got about three or four more images to post. A 15-inch Beagle named Uno won Best in Show -- the first time a Beagle won at Westminster since it all started 132 years ago. It was a lot of fun to watch (and hear!) the popular choice win the big prize - it seldom happens there! Camera settings and post-processing: Shot with the Canon EOS 5D Thanks for visiting Durham Township! --Kathleen COME TO A NEW SHOW OF MY WORK AT THE PALISADES GALLERY February 20 - April 2, 2008 Opening reception Wednesday, February 20th from 6:30 - 7:30 p.m. Comments

Posted by manoj on February 14, 2008 5:58 AMShot from a dogs point of view - knees and below. Such expressive eyes. Posted by JPH on February 14, 2008 6:23 AMI was sitting on the floor when I took this. The man with his hand in his pocket is rather stout and the Clumber Spaniel is a short breed with a large head. Lots of info about the breed here: http://www.akc.org/breeds/clumber_spaniel/ Posted by Kathleen on February 14, 2008 7:12 AMLove the expression, everything about this shot is perfect. Even the colors of clothes the people are wearing, all make it flow nicely. For some reason the name "Gary Larson" pops into my mind....the harmony of colors is striking and maybe something oddly tenuous about groups of people and/or animals in limbo, just waiting around for...what?...like characters in a Hooper painting....and do a lot of people sit on the floor at dog shows or is that a Westminster thing generally? Perhaps they are waiting for the chairs to arrive.....but for whatever reason, it makes a decidedly charming picture....good show so far, Kathleen Posted by david tinnon on February 14, 2008 7:23 PMAwww...Woof! So cute...and very amusing! I have never seen a dog like that before. It looks like a big 'ole goofball! and those are the best kind!
