Greater Snow Geese III (Anser caerulescens atlantica)
PHOTOGRAPH INFO Another Snow Goose shot from Monday morning. Thank you for visiting Durham Township! --Kathleen Comments
Oh wow, this one is incredible too. I love the touch of blue at the top. Posted by luminouslens on February 1, 2008 11:17 AMThis and previous shot are great. Really like that freezed moment, when so many birds are moving...Great captures! Posted by Lud@ on February 1, 2008 12:12 PMit's pretty amazing that nature itself teaches us everything we need to know about color theory. do you ever feel like you're in a candy store just waiting for the chance to sneak a piece? that's sorta what your photos are - that chance. nice shot. Posted by g on February 1, 2008 1:22 PMI kind of wonder about those three on the ground. Fabulous shot! Posted by Edwinek on February 1, 2008 3:40 PMGlad to see you got your "Bird Flew" shot. Make a fantastic jigsaw puzzle considering the cacophony of complex merging patterns. An appropriate finale (?) to a short series that looks more like serigraph images than photographs. The elements seem so well positioned and the simplified pallet of contrasting hues seems so well planed. The small bit of cool blue sky makes a huge impact against the warm color below.....and we are only just getting to February.....just lucky I guess... Thanks for more outstanding field work! Posted by david tinnon on February 1, 2008 3:56 PMI've been a subscriber to your blog for a while and I love the daily image. Thanks for sharing. It's always fun to see what other kinds of photographers shoot. Posted by joshua gene on February 1, 2008 7:29 PMTo capture snow geese in a field (I'm old enough to remember Burma Shave roadside signs, can you tell?) Posted by JPH on February 1, 2008 8:28 PMKathleen, I love this shot - what fun! Posted by Mark Peacock on February 2, 2008 1:18 AM I really like this shot... gives me the impression that the trees are full of white flowers... very nice. Posted by Mikelangelo on February 2, 2008 1:22 PMDid the sound of your shutter scare them away? :) I would be afraid that they would turn into hitchcock film birds and swarm me! Posted by Archie | Whateverland on February 3, 2008 7:23 PMBeautiful image ! I often come to watch your pictures, and i'm always charmed, thank's to share it with us. You always seem to be in the right place at the right time. so nice Posted by kat on February 5, 2008 8:34 AMJust a stunning shot, Kathleen. Beautiful. And I can feel the chill in the air. Hopefully you had a lab dog or something to flush them out for you! Hope all is well. Posted by MikesRightBrain on February 5, 2008 11:39 AMWhat strikes me most is how it looks like the geese are growing on the trees...the leaves have been replaced by geese! What a neat shot. Posted by Laurie on February 5, 2008 6:35 PMSo, how fast can your repeat, "Greater Snow Geese grow on trees, Greater Snow Geese grow on trees, Greater Snow...faster...without saying "snow grease?" Posted by David Tinnon on February 7, 2008 12:44 AMmy very first impression when I saw this was snow covered trees :)) I dont have snow on the brain too much do I? :) Very nice texture clash between the trees & the geese. I found your blog on photoblogs.org. I think it's one of the best. I always wished someone would shoot the beautiful clash between the geometry of farmland, and the "chaos" of nature. The dogs/owners are a lot of fun. Larry Hunsucker Posted by Larry Hunsucker on February 26, 2008 1:13 PMbeautiful! love the color, composition, framing. awesome shot.
