great photo. the location is fantastic, the lighting through the ice is great and i love her face - it looks somewhat timid. what does she see i wonder...

this reminds me of the part early in the first "lord of the rings" where they were hiding out from the guys on the black horses. kinda eerie...

....in the mouth of the beast, Alice stays cool and calm! She reaches for the nearest incisor for the purpose of avoiding the impending likelihood of being swallowed whole.....

Can't wait to see the next episode, Kathleen....How can she ever possibly?......we will just have to wait!

Once again a great unique shot. I can't decide which looks colder....the icicles or the nose!

This is very different from your usual, it looks like a movie still.

Great, and I have always enjoyed your incorporation of youthful subjects

This is so incredible. The location and elements of ice and rock are perfect. There seems to be an expression of mild trepidation on her face, and yet at the same time there is an air that she is feeling as though she has conquered something. Perhaps like finding the best ever hiding spot in a game of hide and seek, or capture the flag.

Kathleen,

Some of the best lighting yet. Just stunning. But I am still thinking about the lighting from the Durham Church in the fog...that was amazing as well. Thanks for your hard work on this Photo Blog, it is an inspiration.

This image reminds me of when I was young and used to find places to hide or create my own imaginary worlds. The look on the child's face seems to me like they are hiding from someone or maybe just waiting. I'd like to see what she is staring at...I am just curious. The colors are amazing. None of the icicles are blown out and they all have detail which is great. I am really drawn to this photograph.
