Approaching Storm Near Lake Nockamixon
PHOTOGRAPH INFO This photo was taken late Sunday afternoon. The forecast called for snow starting around midnight and I caught the clouds rolling in. Unfortunately, the storm blew off the coast and delivered no snow whatsoever! Thank you for visiting Durham Township! --Kathleen Comments
Blue and gold restores the soul...and please notice the slightly blurred thumb print of God in the center of the sky.....and so where else would She?.........(How's that for gender equity Willow?).... Posted by David Tinnon on January 16, 2008 12:52 AMBeautiful landscape. I love the contrast between the remaining blue sky and the dark, textured storm clouds. Great shot Kathleen! Posted by Kim on January 16, 2008 5:57 AMGood work. Keep on.... Posted by Dennis on January 16, 2008 6:04 AMGreat nature shot, the approaching storm clouds contrast nicely in color with the golden field. Posted by Christina on January 16, 2008 6:36 AMThe level ground vs. the askew sky. Man's dwelling place vs. God's dwelling place(at least that where we put Him).If I pause to look, God's fingerprints are everywhere around me. Posted by JPH on January 16, 2008 7:01 AMI love the tones of this and how you have captured the clouds. Wonderful! Posted by Teri on January 16, 2008 10:12 AMMy boys were all geared up for a snow day on Monday...Boy were they disappointed! This is a stunning landscape. I love the way the storm front cuts the frame on the diagonal. Posted by Laurie on January 16, 2008 3:27 PMKeeping the Horizon low and giving more importance to the sky above justifies the title of the picture. Nice composition. I liked the colors but they can be modified at anytime using software. Such a wonderfully dramatic photograph! Posted by Strawberry Lane on January 17, 2008 1:36 PMVery cool shot. It reminds me of a layer cake. Posted by Oswegan on January 17, 2008 3:55 PMthere is a tiny little patch of checkboard-like swirls in the clouds near the center. i can see why this photo has attracted strawberry lane's and willows and God. Posted by g on January 17, 2008 7:14 PMMarvelous light and sky. Posted by Anita Bower on January 17, 2008 7:45 PMSpeak!
