New Year's Eve, Cooks Creek
PHOTOGRAPH INFO This photo was taken on Monday afternoon. I like visiting the creek in winter - it's such a different place when the water is high and the trees show their skeletons. I'm looking forward to seeing some ice and snow along the banks later in the season. Camera settings and post-processing: Shot with the Canon EOS 5D Happy New Year to everyone - all the best in 2008! --Kathleen Comments

Posted by Evi on January 3, 2008 8:23 AMHi ! Congratulations for your nomination as finalist Photoblog Awards 2007 in Best American Photoblog category. Bravissimo !!! Posted by on January 3, 2008 1:11 PMThis is really such a sweet photo. What a beautiful spot too. I love the ruggedness of the terrain. The world races by yet she stands fast on an island of necessity. Alone yet strong, unsure yet stubborn. Hard to approach and hard to understand. It may not have been her choice but has become her way of life. She is proud and she is devoted. She wants to be loved but is weary of the world of empty promises. She does all a woman can do and all that a man should do. More and more of our future lies in her hands. So embrace her as the mother of nature and the mother of mankind. Appreciate her for all that she does to raise our children to protect the earth and to provide the values so easily swept aside by our supposed civilization. Posted by Willow on January 5, 2008 11:26 AMWillow, you sure? I could have sworn that was a guy tree. Posted by David Tinnon on January 6, 2008 1:30 PMYour work is inspirational.
