Chickens at the Schantz Farm
PHOTOGRAPH INFO This photo was taken last Saturday at the Schantz Farm near Zionsville, PA. The colors of the chickens' feathers really stood out on a cold, gray day. Post-processing: Shot with the Canon EOS 5D Thank you for visiting Durham Township! --Kathleen Comments
Great fun! Well captured. Posted by LwS on December 18, 2007 5:15 AMKathleen, you have done it again! They are so beautiful. I think this is a current favorite for me. WOW! Posted by Keith De-Lin on December 18, 2007 6:23 AMPurposely portrayed poultry perched precariously -picture perfect. They look lined up in pecking order. Posted by JPH on December 18, 2007 6:56 AMI love those colorful feathers and combs. They lined right up and posed for you. Nice shot. Posted by Russ on December 18, 2007 10:03 AMHi Kathleen, I must say, I have been looking at your images for some time. I have always been struck by the wonderful color. Really beautiful work. -Sherman Posted by Sherman on December 18, 2007 11:56 AMThats the most elegant looking chicken I ever saw...or maybe it's just me. It opened at work on a cinema display--gorgeous color! The colors in the feathers reminds me of those 18th century still life paintings with tables covered with fruit, silverware, china, fish and fowl, pistols, powder horns, violins, cellos, fishing lures, axes, etc., etc.......and for some reason, chickens make me smile. For surprises without end, I thank you. Posted by david tinnon on December 18, 2007 1:59 PMWonderful photo! Posted by Strawberry Lane on December 19, 2007 12:02 AMThe color here is truly exceptional, Kathleen. Gorgeous! Posted by Judith Polakoff on December 19, 2007 12:31 AMThe colour and DOF are excellent! I would maybe have cropped or cloned out the two thin red wires at the top of the image! I really love this image! Posted by Craig Wilson on December 19, 2007 2:00 AMI love how the color stands out, nature at its finest. The shot is so interesting as well. Nice work!
