Red Maple (Acer rubrum) in Deciduous Forest
PHOTOGRAPH INFO This photograph was taken on Wednesday around 3:00 p.m. We had very dense fog all day. The gray backdrop coupled with the moisture in the air brought out the brilliant colors of the autumn leaves. Thank you for visiting Durham Township! --Kathleen

Nice! Great contrast between the bright foreground and the foggy background. I live on the other side of Allentown from you, and it's always neat to see you posting photos of the same weather I'm having. Another perfect picture. (But my nurseryman heritage begs me to ask you to check the spelling of the type forest.) Thanks. Posted by JPH on November 15, 2007 6:27 AMYou still have a lot of autumn color left - most of mine is already gone. That fog really brings a peaceful mood to this. Great shot Kathleen! Posted by Kim on November 15, 2007 6:44 AMThe colors are stunning. The Fog and mist definitely bring out the vibrancy of the fall foliage. The depth and richness is tasty! We had a rare fog on Wednesday as well, but it was all gone by mid-morning which is actually longer than it usually hangs around. I was lucky enough to finish my morning running the kids to school with time enough to get some shots before it was all gone. I posted one today. Posted by Laurie on November 15, 2007 11:15 AMI just love fall's colors. Brilliant. Posted by RD on November 15, 2007 1:18 PMI agree with everyone else...beautiful colors! I love the orange leaves against the complementary blue fog. And I like how that one spot of bright background leads your eye from the leaves to the trees further away. Lovely shot! It's my background now. Posted by lucky pennies on November 15, 2007 1:49 PMLovely! Fall has been long and gorgeous this year. I have been reveling in it. Posted by Anita Bower on November 16, 2007 8:25 AMHue-wheeeee! thats gorgeous! The rich blacks of the damp tree bark really make the colors pop. Your eye for composition elements, like the two Red Maple limbs, is a continuing source of delight to me. It is as if you see the forest AND the trees. Thanks again, and dremember, many great artist are poor spellerts. Posted by david tinnon on November 16, 2007 11:21 AMGorgeous fall colors in this woodland scene! Posted by Susan on November 17, 2007 11:32 AMBeautiful, enchanting colors and atmosphere! There's something with the position of the 'Comments' button, i had to search for a minute before i found it (using a widescreen, i couldn't see the button at first). Posted by PiXistenZ on November 21, 2007 2:07 AMYou are looking at the brilliance of reality yet glimpsing the mist like soul of the forest. The striking colors of the earth tone rainbow are present here and reaching out in every direction. The tree limbs intertwine through the clouds of doubt to link the thoughts of an active mind. At your feet lie the fallen ideas that have been put forward and discarded as not being equal to the vision. Posted by Willow on November 24, 2007 3:29 AMSpeak!
