Walnuts & Apples

PHOTOGRAPH INFO

This photo was taken last Thursday morning around 8.30 a.m. The morning fog returned and I took a short walk after the school bus left. This is my neighbor's yard.

Post-processing: Shot with the Canon EOS 5D and the Canon 70-200mm f/2.8L IS lens at 70mm, ISO 200, f/8, shutter 1/640s. Adjusted the white balance of the RAW file from 4700 (camera's decision) to 5300 (more of a daylight temp), which warmed up the tone, then applied curves adjustments to bring up the contrast in the foreground branches.

Thank you for visiting Durham Township!

The foreground branches alone are simply exquisite.

Lovely monochromatic work. I love the varying levels of contrast, from the very dark foreground to the fog-filled background.

Nicely done. It reminds me of an old sepia toned photo from years gone by.

Very nice shot Kathleen. I love the mysterious feel that the fog creates. The sepia treatment is perfect for this one.

The patterns of the foreground limbs and the minimalists shapes created by the fog makes for an Oriental Expression.......a relaxing ride, thank you!

Above you tendrils of doubt try to hold you back. Ahead of you through the fog of confusion are two living beings, yet so much more. They may be different, apple to walnut, man to woman, and they are two distinctly different entities with roots planted firmly in the ground. They have their own individual strengths to withstand the pull of the gravity of life. The scarred bark, broken limbs and rings of experience prove their determination to survive on their own.But being close, can their roots and limbs not intertwine? Can they not gain strength from being together? The harsh winds of reality that sometimes blow are not quite so strong against two when they can lean on each other. If one starts to falter the other is there for support. They are enshrouded in the mists of uncertainty, but together they shall prevail.
