River Fog IV
PHOTOGRAPH INFO This is the fourth photograph in a series of Delaware River fog shots. The fog has been around each morning for about two weeks now, although the density has changed from day to day. I live 1.8 miles from the river's edge, and there are mornings when the fog is so heavy that I can't see out my front windows. On other days the fog lies directly above the water and nowhere else. In the comments section from the first photo in this series, Bob asked for a horizontal shot of that same view. So this is a horizontal view to the right with a hair of overlap. Same camera settings (except focal length) but this photo has a warmer look. Post-processing: Shot with the Canon EOS 5D Thank you for visiting Durham Township! --Kathleen Vote for this site in the 2007 Photoblog Awards and the 2007 Blogger's Choice Awards Comments
Very nice Kathleen. I always love the fog when it rolls over the fields like this. Posted by Tom Brandt on September 24, 2007 11:02 PMI love this series, the mist in the morning is always fantastic to see and you caught it beautifully as always. Keep up the great work, Another beautiful shot, Kathleen. Posted by Russ on September 25, 2007 1:06 AMThis series of shots is gorgeous! I love the subtle colors of the morning sky against the rich colors of the fields. The fog adds such a soft, transitional effect. Just beautiful Kathleen! Posted by Kim on September 25, 2007 2:39 AMGreat shot. It reminds me the stuffing escaping from the patchwork quilt my grandmother gave me. Posted by JPH on September 25, 2007 5:48 AMThis serie is great ! And you choose the right time to do it. The light give some very nice tones and colors. Bravo ! Posted by Franck on September 25, 2007 8:45 AMBeautiful! These fog shots have been amazing. I've always found it difficult to get photos of fog that aren't washed out, these are so vibrant. Thanks for making it happen. Posted by david tinnon on September 25, 2007 8:37 PMI really like your fogshots ! Posted by Jeet on September 26, 2007 1:02 AMI like your 'River Fog' series. The morning light and fog are wonderful! Posted by Susan on September 26, 2007 12:08 PMbeautiful lighting. nice capture as always. Posted by heather on September 26, 2007 12:38 PMKathleen, The only time I'm disappointed in visiting your site is when you've not posted a new photo! The Delaware river fog is hard to get a camera lens around, but you've done a very good job in capturing several lens's worth of it. I've been enjoying this sight mornings from Ballek/Steely Hill (best photo IMO is Stout's school), and it inspired a fall-off day before Fall (furthest point: Rough and Ready, PA). Fog is always doing something different around here: sometimes the fog rolls in from the upper field straight into our living room. One time the paint peeled from the walls because of this. I like this atmosphere. Beautiful morning ! Bravo. Posted by JB on September 27, 2007 3:35 AMYou should consider yourself very lucky for managing to capture all this beauty.
