PHOTOGRAPH INFO This photo was taken Sunday. Great evening clouds lately! Just some general info: Summer is in full swing and my updates are a bit irregular right now with kids out of school, lots of yard work and a few trips here and there. I'm still posting a few new shots a week during the summer, but I'll be back on a regular posting schedule (a new photo every other day) in September. This weekend I'm off to Littleton, Colorado, to shoot the wedding celebration of fellow photoblogger Jessyel Ty Gonzalez of Daily Snap. Back on Monday! Enjoy your weekend. :) Post-processing: Shot with the Canon EOS 5D Thank you for visiting Durham Township! --Kathleen Vote for this site in the 2007 Photoblog Awards and the 2007 Blogger's Choice Awards Comments
Oh My God! Is this shot fantastic! It's like something from Genesis or as if God is looking down upon Bucks County and giving the Ten Commandments. The sunbeams and the colors within the clouds are superb, as are the highlights and reddish tones in the tops of the vegetation. You've outdone yourself yet again, Kathleen. How are you going to top this (I'm sure you will)? It's very inspiring. I may have to purchase this one from you. Posted by Russ D. on July 19, 2007 2:02 AMWow! Posted by LwS on July 19, 2007 3:22 AMOne of your most evocative nature shots. Keep on keepn' on. Posted by Dennis on July 19, 2007 4:29 AMReminds me of the second and third day of creation.(Genesis 1:6-13) Clouds always make for interesting photos. Posted by JPH on July 19, 2007 5:22 AMHmmm... I don't remember enough of Genesis to know if this is in there, but to me it looks like the big G is flipping us the bird. Stunning. A classic. Posted by Jack on July 19, 2007 10:30 AMIndescribable... what an amazing sky. And how did Jessyel get so lucky to have you photograph his wedding?! Lucky dog. Can you please share some wedding pictures with us? Posted by RD on July 19, 2007 11:14 AMMajestic. If you're so inclined, the world's largest outdoor rodeo will be starting this weekend in Cheyenne, Wyoming (where I live) which is about an hour and a half drive from Denver. http://www.cfdrodeo.com/ Make it up if you can, it's always a great time! Send me an email if you can make it want a tour guide! PS - I absolutely love your photography and literally get excited every time one of your posts shows up on my newsreader! Posted by Laurie on July 19, 2007 2:38 PMIf by perchance the stairway to heaven exists, I think it will look like this. Posted by Robert on July 19, 2007 3:22 PMWow! Posted by Kim on July 20, 2007 1:22 PMWhaaaaaaaaat???!! Posted by david hasselhoff on July 20, 2007 1:31 PMSo beautiful, the rays of light are stunning. I like this one, a lot. Posted by riika on July 20, 2007 3:40 PMThe type of sky we're all too familiar with over here in the UK this summer, every day it seems to rain. Researching a recent project caused me to pour over half a dozen Micheal Angelo "coffee table books" for hours--so when this sky open up on my screen, my instantaneous response was, "Mikey baby, your not even close"....nor was Cecil B. De Mill...so guess who works for Kathleen? This aught to give any atheist some High Anxiety! (I might even wipe the dust off the King James Version)....and Willow will make her keyboard sing Handel's Messiah.....metaphorically speaking of coarse.... Amen and Amen and thanks again... Posted by david tinnon on July 20, 2007 5:22 PMAmid the overwhelming grandeur of the cloudscape the viewer may understandably overlook the dramatic, yet understated depth of the field (DOTF)....probably a good quarter of a mile.... shoot the trip, we'll be waiting... Posted by david tinnon on July 20, 2007 8:30 PMKathleen, I hope you don't mind and I know you are busy, but I "tagged" you on my blog. I was "tagged" by Bonnie Bruno from Photo Buffet. I posted 8 things people might not know about me which is the theme. Now I am supposed to pass on the tag to 5 other photographers that I admire. I posted mine on my blog for tomorrow. I certainly understand if you don't have the time. Posted by Laurie on July 20, 2007 10:31 PMwow. very heavenly. Posted by Patrick on July 20, 2007 10:45 PMI am the creator, the provider of all that you see. You have been given a uniique gift and how have you shown your appreciation? You have covered my skin in concrete and asphalt and then sliced through it to plant your chemically enhanced crops. You have turned once fertile lands into dust bowls devoid of timber, filled the clear, pure air with noxious chemicals that burn the eyes and blister the skin, tunneled deep into my being, leaving scarred mounds of detritus stripped for minerals with artificial values, filled pristine lakes, flowing rivers and mighty oceans with hazardous chemicals where nothing can live. But, I possess great strength and resilience; I have the ability to heal myself. Behold, the mist like shroud is drawn back and the life bringing rays of the sun gently embrace my efforts. Green again is the land and tall and straight grow my charges. Let them live and you will be forgiven and your souls can be redeemed. Posted by Willow on July 21, 2007 9:44 AMKathleen , utterly beautiful... Posted by Pasci on July 22, 2007 6:25 AMRobert, I would argue that it is a left-handed bird which would indicate that it is the earth which is "flippin' off" the nearest star..(not you, David H--the other kind)...perhaps our collective consciousness is saying, "Yo, sunny boy, thanks for global warming ya big #@%&$#&@ over-reactor!" Roy, Aren't the rain-soaked UK fields full of crop circles? Maybe "The Creator" is giving corn "the finger!" Willow, Behold you have paraphrased and condensed! One paragraph for the Old Testament, one for the New. Way less text and the perfect cover shot....the new one-page version or OPV, will save a ton of rain forests....recycled paper of course! Can we go to press now?...all previous versions are redeemable?......800 # for KINKOS? Meanwhile out west, Durham Township's Heroin is involved in a wedding/shootout. (digital or film, any votes?) Posted by david tinnon on July 22, 2007 12:19 PMWonderful detail in the sky. And fantastic lighting. Well done! Posted by Alice on July 22, 2007 5:23 PMVery dramatic looking. And beautiful lighting.
