Morning Hike, Secret Swamp

PHOTOGRAPH INFO

This photo was taken this past week on a morning hike through one of the parks in Bucks County. I'll be shooting there over the next month for a little project I'm working on; after that I'll tell you where it is. :)

Post-processing: Shot with the Canon EOS 5D and the Canon EF 24-70mm f/2.8L lens at 24mm, ISO 200, f/2.8, shutter 1/2000s. Curves adjustments and color balancing.

Thank you for visiting Durham Township!

Very crisp. I love the warm tones in the branches coming up from the water.

Reflections vs. ripples, dying vs. living, sky vs. water, secret swamp vs. popular pool, in-the-photo vs. take-the-photo. Many good combinations here.

Very nice. This place looks like it has many photographic opportunities.

Cool shot. I fear for the camera with all that water though.

Great photo.

Just one quick word of warning.. That park is an old quarry that has been filled and as such the "pond" is very deep with a quite unstable floor.

Please be careful. :)

Thanks,
Nick

A story has long been told by travelers passing this way, of a far away land where even the bare and broken limbs of the swamps have their own support groups......alias, 'tis true, And a beautiful lassie too.

Click on, woman. (And please watch your steps ladies, as a swamp can sometimes be the pits)

Love the composition and the colouring Kathleen! Great work as always.

Thanks, Nicholas and David for warning Kathleen
about that swamp. It's no secret that no one goes
there. The people there must have known this for
years, stayed away from the area and assumed others
knew it too. Kathleen, no more swamp pictures.
O.K.?

I tried to comment twice yesterday but got errors both times. I hope it works this time.

I love this. It looks like it's going to be a great series and a great place for the project.

Do be careful though and watch out for the various swamp things!

A final pose before I cross over to the other side. Remember me as I am now if you never see me again and remember that I tried to do the right thing. I go forward with a clear mind and a sense of purpose. If you don't take the chance, you'll never know what opportunities lie ahead. I don't know how deep the water is or what lies beneath the surface but I have my staff to lean on. Climbing that hill is my ultimate goal and if I can make it to the top, I'm sure I can see forever. Want to go with me?

Great image, I like the obscurity of the scene - the model juxtaposed against the mess of the swamp.
