If You Don't Have Money Don't Come in the Bar
PHOTOGRAPH INFO This photo was taken on Sunday in Easton, Pennsylvania, eight miles north of Durham Township. Easton is famous for many important historical events, and a few contemporary things like Crayola crayons, Dixie cups and Larry Holmes ("the Easton Assassin"). The Wikipedia page on Easton has some good general information on the historical events. Post-processing: Shot with the Canon EOS 5D Thank you for visiting Durham Township! --Kathleen Comments
Love this, Kathleen. Signs and windows are one of my favorites.. isn't it crazy what people will hang up in a window for the world to read? Posted by Betsy Barron on June 21, 2007 8:09 AMThat's pretty amusing. My guess is they've had people come in without money before, probably more than once. Posted by Laurie on June 21, 2007 9:53 AMI don't know if photo bloggers get into doing memes, but I am tagging you as a "Rockin Girl Blogger". Posted by Alice on June 21, 2007 11:00 AMThis is a terrific piece of small town Americana. There is no mention of shoes or shirts! I assume no one would dare enter without them.--- Bring yourself and the cash inside and have a cold one.---- I imagine there would be some terrific photo possibilities inside, perhaps welcome, perhaps not. Quick, sell you Anheuser Busch stock before Willow sees this!!!! Posted by david tinnon on June 21, 2007 11:16 AMWho said?! Posted by david hasselhoff on June 21, 2007 1:16 PMVery amusing photo ... Posted by Wolfgang Burzler on June 21, 2007 1:54 PMthere is a saying in Spanish that would translated to something like: "the more clarity the more friendship" (mientras mas claridad, mas amistad) Wonderful framing, You got an awesome collection... Cheers! Posted by SSH on June 21, 2007 10:09 PMAll the beer advertisements are in Spanish!? What! That's not the American flag next to the bottle of Bud!? Where are we anyway? Where did you say!? Pennsylvania!? Hey wait a minuto; the signs regarding "dinero" and "horas" are in "Ingles"! Is the proprietor suggesting that the thirsty English speaking people in Easton are all too cheap to pay for a beer!? Is this some lead in to a Steven Wright joke? I suppose the two stickers for the Fraternal Order of Police are there to guarantee a rapid response to the requested removal of any non paying Anglo Saxon loiterers so as to make room on the bar stools for those who can pay for their cervezas! what is going on here? Dios Mio! "In America, Surrealism is invisible for all is larger than life".
