Relax, Life Too Short (Columbia, Ohio)

PHOTOGRAPH INFO

This photo was taken today in the tiny town of Columbia, Ohio, on my drive back from the 2007 North American Photobloggers Meetup in beautiful Chicago, Illinois. I spent five days with a whole bunch of astounding photographers, touring the city of Chicago and having an absolute blast. I learned so much from everyone. What an amazing group of people!

I'll be posting some photos from the trip later in the week.

In the meantime, I'm pleased to announce that A Walk Through Durham Township won Best American Photoblog in the 2007 Photobloggies Awards presented in Chicago this past weekend. Congratulations to all the nominees and winners this year; I'm humbled to be in your company.

Post-processing: Shot with the Canon EOS 5D and the Canon EF 24-70mm f/2.8L lens at 24mm, ISO 200, shutter speed 1/200s, aperture f/2.8. Curves for contrast & saturation, color balancing for tone.

Thank you for visiting Durham Township!

Congratulations!
But I'm not surprised actually- your photoblog deserves it!

I'd be willing to wage even money that the author lives the message....certianly didn't stress out over the sign project. There is balance here if we forgive the missing "s." In view of the nature of the message, I vote forgive the typo and enjoy the face value.

And congratulations for the just deserts, Kathleen. Now back to Durham and relax, after all, life too.......

OK, OK, so caligraphy is not for everybody.

BurmaShave sentiments in just one sign! (I guess this dates me if I remember them) Glad your Chicago trip was a success and landing yet another award. :)

Congrats Kathleen!!! It's a well deserved award.

The person who made that sign may not have spelled correctly but they are wise with their message.

Congratulations!! Your images are astounding, so don't be humbled by anyone !

What a fabulous shot of some really cool signage! I think I tend to agree with them...life is too short.

I did not relax too much this past weekend, but still felt I was soaking as much from my short life as possible. It was a special pleasure to finally meet you after several years of visiting your site.

Congratulations Kathleen....you totally deserve it. You are such an inspiration to so many of us!

It was an honor to meet you this past weekend. I only wish the weekend was longer and I could have gotten to know you better. Next time you decide to do a road trip through Ohio, make sure to stop in Columbus!

Keep in touch!

Thanks for driving all that way, Kathleen! You helped make it a weekend to remember. Can't wait to see the rest of your shots.

Hey, that win was a shoo-in.

David Tinnon ...only you would notice the absence calligraphy. You are so funny.

I think the mishap in the grammar really adds to the message, haha!

Also, congratulations, although it's definitely no surprise.

Congratulations! Yes, it is very well deserved.
Would love to meet the artist of this beautiful sign. Bet he/she would be a fascinating person.

I had such a great weekend finally meeting you along with the other NAP2007 attendees. It wouldn't have been the same without you! As they say in Casablanca: "We will always have cheesecake..." or was it Paris? :)

You travel all the way to Chicago by car, take lots of photographs of the Windy City and the many photographers that were in attendance, and you post a photo from Columbia, Ohio? What's the deal?

That only leads me to believe you are going to have some outstanding shots from the weekend. Really looking forward to them.

As always, it's great hanging out with you. Thanks for making the weekend such an enjoyable, fun experience. Let me know when you are coming up to Toronto. =)
