Spring Fields

PHOTOGRAPH INFO

This photo was taken Wednesday afternoon on a walk near my house. I love watching the deciduous trees fill in -- there's no turning back to winter weather now. We've had a stretch of five remarkably beautiful spring days; it wrapped up with more rain today.

Post-processing: Shot with the Canon EOS 5D and the Canon 180mm f3.5L Macro lens at 180mm, ISO 100, shutter speed 1/200s, aperture f/8. Curves, color balancing.

Thank you for visiting Durham Township!

Kathleen, this might be one of your strongest photos yet ... everything is perfect ... color ... balance ... contrast ... the three dimensional aspect ... an awesome photo! thanks.

Exactly the colors I prefer. Very nice

It is really lovely. The spring greens are such unique shades; so different from the summer greens.

Enjoy Chicago!!!

A colorful and refreshing picture. I love it! I love spring!

Haaaaa, a bit of rain in the spring makes the colors pop up like crazy. Don't we all love it ??

Nice with the green and green (fore-/background) and still so different.

Grandma is not the only one that does patchwork quilting. Thanks for recording it.

Kathleen, your photos are very pleasing.

Absolutely gorgeous. I'm envious that your trees are further along than the trees in my neck of the woods, and I'm only 1 hour west and a little south of you. It must be your proximity to the Delaware. The colors and contrast are exceptional. Did Jakey help out with the painting of the earth tones, by chance?

Dittos to JPH and Steffan. It's like two creations, joined by the mind. My instant impression of the foreground was that of man's abstractions in contrast to the organic patterns of the background--then the rugs my grandmother made came to mind...that someone else got the rug thing has me laughing, they were always round or oval and made form whatever scraps "grandma" could find...the earth tones remind me of "Red Dirt Girl" by Emmylou.

Thanks for the perfect "hello spring" and have a safe journey. (And please, shoot something.)

Great colour. The cultivation vs green grass is really spectacular.

Kathleen,

I found your site about a year ago and have enjoyed your photography blog ever sense. Every day I check back to see what else you have captured. You can't help but feel the intimacy you have with your subjects. I grew up in a rural farm town in upstate New York so the connection to your images of farms and farm land is at times overwhelming. This is one of those images that brings a warm glow to my heart and brings back memories of just how wonderful and beautiful life is in our rural communities.

Thank you,

Rob

Kathleen,
I am currently a Landscape Architecture student at the College of Environmental Science in Syracuse. I was born and raised in Tincum township and being in Syrcause makes me miss the beauty of Upper Bucks. I love your photos and I am always checking to see what's new. Thanks for always giving me something good to look at.

Not the normal lens for an image such as this...stunning none the less. Colours are perfect and the framing really shows off the patterns. The image really keeps your interest.
