Spring Fields
PHOTOGRAPH INFO This photo was taken Wednesday afternoon on a walk near my house. I love watching the deciduous trees fill in -- there's no turning back to winter weather now. We've had a stretch of five remarkably beautiful spring days; it wrapped up with more rain today. Post-processing: Shot with the Canon EOS 5D Thank you for visiting Durham Township! -- Kathleen Comments
Painting landscape with a tractor. :-) Posted by Steffen on April 26, 2007 2:28 AMKathleen, this might be one of your strongest photos yet ... everything is perfect ... color ... balance ... contrast ... the three dimensional aspect ... an awesome photo! thanks. Posted by tim seeber on April 26, 2007 3:23 AMExactly the colors I prefer. Very nice Posted by derLitograph on April 26, 2007 5:36 AMIt is really lovely. The spring greens are such unique shades; so different from the summer greens. Enjoy Chicago!!! Posted by Laurie on April 26, 2007 5:36 AMA colorful and refreshing picture. I love it! I love spring! Posted by RD on April 26, 2007 5:58 AMHaaaaa, a bit of rain in the spring makes the colors pop up like crazy. Don't we all love it ?? Nice with the green and green (fore-/background) and still so different. Posted by TimTim74 on April 26, 2007 6:00 AMGrandma is not the only one that does patchwork quilting. Thanks for recording it. Posted by JPH on April 26, 2007 6:39 AMWonderful! This photo just lowers one's blood pressure :) Nothing more beautiful than Spring and Kathleen's photography. Posted by Noreen on April 26, 2007 6:50 AMKathleen, your photos are very pleasing. Posted by Retta Fontana on April 26, 2007 10:06 AMAbsolutely gorgeous. I'm envious that your trees are further along than the trees in my neck of the woods, and I'm only 1 hour west and a little south of you. It must be your proximity to the Delaware. The colors and contrast are exceptional. Did Jakey help out with the painting of the earth tones, by chance? Posted by Russ on April 26, 2007 10:06 AMDittos to JPH and Steffan. It's like two creations, joined by the mind. My instant impression of the foreground was that of man's abstractions in contrast to the organic patterns of the background--then the rugs my grandmother made came to mind...that someone else got the rug thing has me laughing, they were always round or oval and made form whatever scraps "grandma" could find...the earth tones remind me of "Red Dirt Girl" by Emmylou. Thanks for the perfect "hello spring" and have a safe journey. (And please, shoot something.) Posted by david tinnon on April 26, 2007 10:47 AMGreat colour. The cultivation vs green grass is really spectacular. Posted by Michael Rawluk on April 26, 2007 11:16 AMSplendid. Posted by Ruth on April 26, 2007 1:25 PMKathleen, I found your site about a year ago and have enjoyed your photography blog ever sense. Every day I check back to see what else you have captured. You can't help but feel the intimacy you have with your subjects. I grew up in a rural farm town in upstate New York so the connection to your images of farms and farm land is at times overwhelming. This is one of those images that brings a warm glow to my heart and brings back memories of just how wonderful and beautiful life is in our rural communities. Thank you, Rob Posted by Rob on April 26, 2007 3:14 PMWow... This is amazing. Thanks for making my reader warm and fuzzy today.
