Jakey Disking the Horseshoe, 8:00 p.m.

PHOTOGRAPH INFO

This photo was taken on Sunday night just before it got too dark to see my way out of the field!

'The horseshoe' is the name of a U-shaped field. 'Disking' smoothes the soil and kills weed seedings.

Post-processing: Shot with the Canon EOS 5D and the Canon 180mm f3.5L Macro lens at 180mm, ISO 3200, shutter speed 1/250s, aperture f/3.5. Curves, color balancing.

Thank you for visiting Durham Township!

Sure, the noise is very visible, but it's nevertheless a beautiful shot of daily work ! Bravo !

I really love the atmosphere with the dust and the headlights shining through. It has almost an eerie feel to it.

It looks like there is a photo in the window of the tractor, can you tell us anything about that?

Cows by day and the fields by night....is Jakey's work ever done? It makes for an interesting photo of glowing lights and wisps of dust.

This is a super night shot. Wonderful subject and detail to the photo. Have gained more and more appreciation for the life of a farmer.

The noise adds a really nice quality to this image and the 180mm macro? Wow...just amazing.

Disking time already?

Fantastic night shot! Jakey better keep his eyes on the road!

Jakey's night out? Nice (National Geo)-graphic of the early season tractor action. To shoot into the headlights and still have this much detail of Jakey at the wheel is truly exceptional....so nice of him to throw some fill light on the disker.

The amount of light hitting the ground around the tractor gives the impression of light coming from above the cab ala "Close Encounters" with Jakey in the role of Dryfus.

The sun's path has neared it's summer grove here and we have daylight till almost 8, irrigation has begun and the alfalfa is on the grow. (Soon my lawn will start catching up.)

Thanks once more (#1047?) for being in the right field and not exactly in the dark.

Almost sci-fi somehow...love that. And surreal.
