Jakey Disking the Horseshoe, 8:00 p.m.
PHOTOGRAPH INFO This photo was taken on Sunday night just before it got too dark to see my way out of the field! 'The horseshoe' is the name of a U-shaped field. 'Disking' smoothes the soil and kills weed seedings. Post-processing: Shot with the Canon EOS 5D Thank you for visiting Durham Township! -- Kathleen Comments
Sure, the noise is very visible, but it's nevertheless a beautiful shot of daily work ! Bravo ! Posted by Phil on April 24, 2007 2:31 AMI really love the atmosphere with the dust and the headlights shining through. It has almost an eerie feel to it. It looks like there is a photo in the window of the tractor, can you tell us anything about that? Posted by Laurie on April 24, 2007 6:06 AMCows by day and the fields by night....is Jakey's work ever done? It makes for an interesting photo of glowing lights and wisps of dust. Posted by JPH on April 24, 2007 6:28 AMThis is a super night shot. Wonderful subject and detail to the photo. Have gained more and more appreciation for the life of a farmer. Posted by Noreen on April 24, 2007 9:18 AMThe noise adds a really nice quality to this image and the 180mm macro? Wow...just amazing. Disking time already? Posted by Solaria on April 24, 2007 9:40 AMFantastic night shot! Jakey better keep his eyes on the road! Posted by Betsy Barron on April 24, 2007 10:36 AMJakey's night out? Nice (National Geo)-graphic of the early season tractor action. To shoot into the headlights and still have this much detail of Jakey at the wheel is truly exceptional....so nice of him to throw some fill light on the disker. The amount of light hitting the ground around the tractor gives the impression of light coming from above the cab ala "Close Encounters" with Jakey in the role of Dryfus. The sun's path has neared it's summer grove here and we have daylight till almost 8, irrigation has begun and the alfalfa is on the grow. (Soon my lawn will start catching up.) Thanks once more (#1047?) for being in the right field and not exactly in the dark. Posted by david tinnon on April 24, 2007 10:44 AMAlmost sci-fi somehow...love that. And surreal. Posted by Gator on April 24, 2007 2:08 PMGreat low light shot Kathleen, love the feel to this! Posted by Craig on April 25, 2007 3:03 PMit could pass for a New Holland advertising photo.
