Dreaming of Spring

PHOTOGRAPH INFO

Another 'TTV' shot taken today. (TTV stands for 'through the viewfinder' - meaning I used the Canon 5D to shoot through the viewfinder/mirror an old Ricohflex medium format camera. For more information about how to create a TTV shot, you can read this tutorial.)

I'm dreaming of spring because the weather hasn't convinced me that it's April! It's the coldest I can remember. The daffs don't seem to care, though, which is nice.

Post-processing: Shot with the Canon EOS 5D and the Canon 180mm f3.5L Macro lens (through the 'filter' of an old Ricohflex medium format camera) at 180mm, ISO 400, shutter speed 1/400s, aperture f/3.5. Cropped image to square, basic curves adjustment for contrast, slight color balancing for tone.

Thank you for visiting Durham Township!

Great shot. Beautiful flowers and I really like the effect of looking at it through a lense.

What a lovely surprise on this gloomy day. Love the technique, and the daffs made me smile.:)

Thanks for this beautiful dose of Spring on such a cold and rainy day! Betsy

I really like this one. This is such a cool effect. Makes me really wish I knew what happened to my old Rolleiflex so I could try this.

I wish the daffodils here were as brave as yours I haven't seen the profusion that I am used to.

I hope you all don't suffer any flooding problems with this storm. It's pretty much promises to be a mess around here and the worst hasn't started yet.

What an awesome vintage look. Nice job and keep up the fabulous work! You're an inspiration to soo many aspiring photographers out there. Well, in my case, anyway!

Master Gardner meets Master TTV Grungopher. Hey Kathleen, your supposed to plant the flowers, not the cameras! What an angle, but please rewrite the info section to include somthing along the lines of "I shot them through the windshield on the way to the Durnam Township Spring Sour Cream Festival." (has a nice ring to it...ya think?)

Thanks for bouncing off the wall and into the flowerbed in order to share these "plasticly perfect" flowers.....and I won't say anything wacky like "has Kathleen gone daffy?".....I promise.

A most bizarre photo affect. I won't even try to duplicate mostly because to do so would be not as special anymore...You are a wonder and an inspiration. Thanx.

Very cool, these ttv shots I'm seeing around are really growing on me. Its funny to think we use $3000 in equipment to shoot through an old cameras viewfinder.

Swwet! I love TTV and this one is just great. I love how the ground glass really give this one a unique look to the typical Duaflex shots I'm so used to seeing.
