On the Way to Mary's Store for Sour Cream

PHOTOGRAPH INFO

I was driving to my friend Mary's general store to get sour cream for dinner and I had to pull over for this cloud formation that seemed to take up the entire sky.

It's been a cold April so far! But the warm weather will be with us soon (after the snow we're supposed to get this weekend!).

Post-processing: Shot with the Canon EOS 5D and the Canon EF 24-70mm f/2.8L lens at 24mm, ISO 200, shutter speed 1/125s, aperture f/20. Curves adjustment, color balancing for tone.

Thank you for visiting Durham Township!

Just in time! It's late, the kids are asleep, the dishes are done, (it was Christian's turn but he just had a birthday, so dad did them) and just finished the online banking. So I'm thinking "Kathleen probably has a new image up and I could use some positive inpirational input." And what a face full of fresh air it is! With a sky like that overhead, even a field of dry weeds looks great. (they do)

The info provides needed clarity. Based on the title, I got the instant image of you and a car load of friends driving over to Mary's house for the express purpose of sitting around eating bowls of sour cream. (Did I mention "it's tired and I'm late?)

Hope the sour cream goes down well, this image certainly does.

thank you for sharing the sweet cream!

I went out to get sour cream for dinner last night too, but I didn't see anything as beautiful as this. Those clouds are something else.

RD, Kath is a cloud whisperer. They perform for her when they know she is out there. Would that she had printed those other clouds that were unbelievably beautiful from the "onion snow"
David Tinnon, while reading all your comments and viewing your work I always assumed you were from out of this world. An artist who does the dishes??? What planet allowed you access to this world?

So fortunate we are that you needed to run out for sour cream. As Victoria mentioned, you must be the cloud whisperer. They truly do put on a show for you to share with us.

Victoria, I've taken to listening to Art Bell in the attempt to answer that very question.

Ahhh..the dairy products that can most definitely wait when coming across a sky formation such as this...
Hope it warms up for you soon!

David Tinnon: Please don't let Art talk you into going back. We need you. You weave your charm into writing the way Kathleen does with her photos.

Victoria, your write, besides I need to stick around and talk to Kathleen regarding my earthly lawn...she's also a "lawn whisperer!" (I am NOT suprised!)

Love the open land and brittle grass - so fine.

Lovely image with great depth of field. The composition where the cloud information is dominant, looks like an "inverted" composition of a road that carries the beholder into the picture.
