Preparing the Fields

PHOTOGRAPH INFO

This was taken on April 1st of last year as our good friend Jakey was preparing some of the fields for planting. Jakey hasn't been on the tractor yet this season, but get ready to see a lot more of him now that spring has sprung!

I found this one in the archives and realized I'd forgot to post it last spring! Better late than never. :)

Post-processing: Shot with the Canon EOS 5D and the Canon EF 24-70mm f/2.8L lens at 24mm, ISO 100, shutter speed 1/400s, aperture f/2.8. Can't quite remember what I did in post-processing since it's a year old! Ah, well.

Thank you for visiting Durham Township!

Really like the composition Kathleen. The lead in lines are great and the slope also helps. Great stuff.

I can almost smell the freshly turned earth. (Boomer should be here picking up worms!)

Ahh...it's always good to see Jakey around here!

I can just about smell that freshly turned fertile earth. Beautiful composition!

I am actually surprised at the DOF in this at f2.8.

Well, don't ask me to choose a best picture. I love every season there in Durham Township. Beautiful country, captured by a gifted photographer. This field reminds me of my dad, who spent his entire career as a farm advisor. Love the closeup of that rich soil, and the sloped countryside.

Aaaaaah, it's really Spring now, isn't it :) Great color, composition & perspective.

Can we say Harmonic Convergence here? The landscape rules, and tractor diminished, as it moves off frame. This works so----------o well!

I love your warm tonal effect. I suspect you would enjoy the tonal work of two California Plein Air painters, Arthur and Lucia Mathews. circa 20's, 30's.) Some very dramatic tonal landscapes along with some very period figure pieces.

Thanks for digging up last year's dirt!

I love the composition and the lines. The lines really draw your attention into the photo, and then towards the tractor.
