Just After a Snow Flurry

PHOTOGRAPH INFO

We've had some beautiful skies the last few days with snow showers, snow flurries and snow squalls passing through regularly. This photograph was taken today after a brief but vigourous little storm.

Post-processing: Shot with the Canon EOS 5D and the Canon EF 24-70mm f/2.8L lens at 24mm, ISO 400, shutter speed 1/250s, aperture f/16. Curves adjustments for contrast and saturation.

Thank you for visiting Durham Township!

This is a lovely scene. I love the way the blue of the sky seems to follow the road off into the distance.

I watched and waited for the snow squalls we were supposed to get here yesterday and they never came...I was most disappointed.

I was hoping for a nice storm last night, but once again the weather man was wrong. Instead of white out conditions at rush hour, it was a dusting as I slept. That being said, another fine image.

I like the perspective of the road getting lost in the background. A sense of loneliness and rebelious seperatism exists in trying to find or get to the end of this road.
Lovely colours and despite the recent hostile weather theres a warmness in the earthen colours also.

Loving the lines on the road and power lines leading the eye right down the road. Works beautifully!

i'm most drawn in by the gorgeous winter colours, although i think your position is not elevated enough to create a "vanishing" perspective in the road.

Each one or your highway images is an advertisement for some compelling journey. I enjoy them all. When I look a map, I read the names of towns and I want to see them. When I see a side road I want to take it (specially dirt roads.) When hiking, I never want to stop short of the next bend. (makes for some long hikes!)

Thanks for showing me so many spots on the Durham Township map, and for looking around so many bends!

P.S. When you "Do America" give us a chapter of highways, OK?
