Winter Cartwheel

PHOTOGRAPH INFO

I was very drawn to the light and how it played on the field that afternoon; 'cloudy bright' as they say. It just makes everything glow.

By the way, that's not sensor dust; that's mud being kicked up into the air.

Sorry about your gloves, Jenn. :)

Post-processing: Shot with the Canon EOS 5D and the Canon EF 24-70mm f/2.8L lens at 24mm, ISO 200, shutter speed 1/400s and aperture f/6.3. Curves adjustment for contrast and saturation; slight color balancing for tone.

Thank you for visiting Durham Township!

p.s. More THANKS for the continued response to my portrait project... I'm still getting requests and it's great! I will get in touch with everyone who's volunteered although it may take awhile.

I'm taking an extended road trip across the U.S. this summer and I'm in the process of planning my route; I hope to make a path to a bunch of folks who've volunteered! Send me a note if you're interested. :)

Love this scene Kathleen! The colours and tones are perfect. Will you make it down to Cape Town for a portrait :) ?

Beautiful image. Love the contrast between red, blue and green. Did she intend to cartwheel into the ditch? That must have been a cold walk home.

Wish I could be in the U.S. this summer! But it's going to be fun to see all those people through your camera anyway.
Jenn has been so patient, hasn't she? The work of you two is always amazing.

Lovely picture as always. We really would like some snow now, well the kids anyway :-)

Mud is really distracting the view.
Otherwise, I only like the colors.
Thank you.

Funny and perfect composed, just great.

Playing in the mud again? Very amusing shot. I can just imagine the laughs you both had doing this.

The light is lovely. I've noticed it's had such a strange cast this winter and my guess is it's because everything is still so strangely green for this time of year.

I came accross your site 2 days ago and I fell in love with it immediately. I can't get enough of your beautiful pictures! I wish I could spend a couple of days or one week at the places where you took those pictures!

Thank you for the great job!

you know, i've been watching this place for about a couple of years now and i just think it's great, i mean yor photos are great! but, i also noticed that recently you're trying to use more figurs in your shots so they look different, which is veeerrrry good sometimes but not always, i mean some times when i see your photo i just wish that the figur was not there so i was able to view the DREAM scene! that's a personal opinion by the way! :) here are some examples:

anyways, i have and i always will vote for this site, because it's great! 99% ;)
thanks.

I've seen some fancy crawdad catching in my time, but this technique beats 'em all, hands down. (Looks like a field of bones on the right--don't suppose it's crawdad bones?)

Thanks for the lesson.

We skipped the light fandango
Turned cartwheels 'cross the floor :)

Personally I find this picture pretty average among your other photos.
