Snow Squalls!

PHOTOGRAPH INFO

We were VERY happy to see snow flurries and snow squalls here today! It's the first official appearance of Ol' Man Winter even though the season started three weeks ago. Bring it on, buster!

Post-processing: Shot with the Canon EOS 5D and the Canon EF 24-70mm f/2.8L lens at 50mm, ISO 200, shutter speed 1/1000s and aperture f/22. Curves adjustments for contrast & saturation; color balancing for tone.

Thank you for visiting (yay, chilly!) Durham Township!

Wow!!!!
I want to jump to the sky, too!! :-)

I was at my desk taking care of some business and had my back to the window so I missed the snow squalls only to hear about them a bit later. There were two of them apparently and they only lasted about 5 minutes each. They left no trace and it looks like it's going to warm up into the 50's again.

This is a really fun shot and the sky and light is awesome.

Is that air jordan himself? :-)

Incredible sky and silhouette.I am just south of you in Montgomery county and it was nice to see a little winter come our way. Especially after the warmth of last week.

Wow, what an exultant photograph. Very knowing handling of the light, as always...

Great Shot! And we're feeling the same way up here in Central NY. The holidays, and my birthday, just didn't feel the same without all the snow and cold that we usually have. Your photo says it all!

Okay Okay... jumping pictures are insanely popular... mostly because they are fun to do. But this is something else entirely. Great.

Kathleen, "The Cloud Whisperer".

Posted by Motina on January 13, 2007 10:28 AM

Wow, just wow! The clouds would be nice alone, but with the silhouette it just... wow.

Posted by Markus on January 14, 2007 8:19 PM

All I could see when I called up this photo was the clouds. Then I scrolled down to the bottom and found a surprise. I had to laugh. Nice work.

Posted by MarkDM on January 15, 2007 12:35 AM

lol,(Look & Laugh!) A real treat. Comes off like a duotone in sepia and Prussian Blue. Remember those dancing clown stick puppets? Pull the string and see them dance?.......wow, no stick, but ya gotta be some kind a clown to dance under a dark cloud like that!

Thank you, Dancing Clown.
Thank you, Kathleen
