Portrait of a Bronze Newfoundland Dog

PHOTOGRAPH INFO

Another film shot from 2005 using Kodak Portra VC.

I have a ridiculous fondness for the Newfoundland dog, as many of you know. :)

I met this big, sweet, wonderful, slobbery, darling Newfoundland dog last year at Beltzville State Park and I hate to admit it, but I can't remember the Newf's name or his owner's name! I do remember that they live in Bucks County, about 20 minutes from Durham Township. Hopefully someone out there will know who they are and send me a note. :)

Post-processing: Shot with the Nikon F75 with the Tamron 17-35mm f/2.8-4 DI LD lens at 17mm and Kodak Portra VC film; don't have exact exposure info. Curves adjustment for contrast; color balancing for tone.

Thank you for visiting Durham Township!

They are big 'ole sweethearts aren't they?

I love the way you framed this with the owner clearly in the background. The focus on the dog's eyes is really great.

What a wonderful portrait! I love how the focus is on his eyes. But I do find the shallow depth of field on his nose to be a bit distracting. He does seem to be paying close attention to you.

Brilliant! They say an owner takes after his dog, or something. Shame it wasn't a little sharper, but great comic image nonetheless

The dog has lovely eyes, and you've shot this from a great perspective...
Aren't they nearly as big as a horse or even a house? :)

What a dog! Photo looks great with the eyes and tongue.

I've been catching up on your photos, I loved the ones in the fields of flowers, especially the pink boots and laughing ones, couldn't comment on them though.
