Gator at Tinicum

PHOTOGRAPH INFO

Another film shot, this time using Kodak Portra UC which tends toward some pretty heavy saturation, but I usually like the result. That tiny little person there is our good friend, Barbara Fugate, a.k.a. Gator, taken at the gorgeous barn at Tinicum Park on an afternoon in late autumn of 2005.

We're gonna miss ya at Thanksgiving, Gatah! But we'll be singing this song for you after dinner. (Takes a few seconds to load.)

Post-processing: Shot with the Nikon F75 with the Tamron 17-35mm f/2.8-4 DI LD lens at 17mm. Kodak Portra UC film; I don't have the exact exposure info. Some curves adjustments and color balancing for tone.

Thank you for visiting Durham Township!

Wow! Hugely impressive light! It's as if the house is on fire (kinda) with such reds!¬!

The dark trees aginst the blue, their shadows aginst the red. The rest is bonus textures and angles. You got the eye for setting "em up and good taste when it come to the post-tweeks.

As for the exact size of "Gatah," it's hard to figure without a John Deere or a combine along side for comparison. (And I suppose we'll just have to struggle along without the latin tree names--but considering the general warmth of the overall image and the approching hollidays, we'er willing to overlook the omission.)

Thank you Kathleen,
Thank you Gatah,
Thank you Stephen Foster.

PS I recomend James Taylor and Mark O'Connor doing "hard times come again no more" by the same feller.

It IS all about the light!! I love using the Kodak films during the late afternoon light, they really emphasize the warm colors. Beautiful shot!

Truely stunning, that depth of colour looks almost drinkable..it's an old cliche, but always worth repeating, first look for the light, then look for your picture.
Well done,

This is gorgeous, and I really like the angle from which you photographed the scene.

GATAH??? You may be missing that pumpkin pie
but what are we supposed to do without them
downhome biscuits??? We may just have to sing
a couple verses of that song dave Tinnon
suggested.

Excellent. The light and shadows are just great and the colours are lovely. Warm but with a sense of cold to come at the same time, if you see what I mean?

After viewing a lot of your photos I have become a real fan. I absolutely HATE the fact that you have to insert some lame human into every scene, but your eye for photography is very keen. Thanks for posting such awesome shots!
