PHOTOGRAPH INFO
This photograph was taken yesterday. I noticed this field of smartweed (interesting common name!) from a distance a few days ago and decided to have a closer look. I was delighted to find the flowers as densely packed as they seemed from far away. Amazing to have such a bright pink color as autumn approaches.

It's odd that she feels almost out of place in this field, and yet you can clearly see that she has a perfect right to be there. Beautiful image.

So my first impression after a quick glance: "Nice light, interesting composition, boots match the flowers" .. Usually I'd stop there but reading the first comment, i went back and noticed that the shirt and the clouds, and the jeans and the sky are also matched.. So as a seemingly "ordinary" portrait, there's obviously thought behind it. Heh.. Watch it or you'll start to make me look at things in an artsy way. Not sure i'm ready for that. ;)

Very nice outdoor portrait. Very nice balanced lighting and overall image.
There's a nice subtle, strong contrast in the grass... and there's nice, organized sections of colour... matching with the boots even!
I love the colours.. specially the boots and flowers :)

Posted by javga on September 23, 2006 8:20 AMjavga: No artificial light in this photo. It was shot at 5:30 p.m. The light on her face is bright cloud-filtered sunlight near the horizon. The clouds in the background were the same on the opposite side of the sky where the sun was - so you can imagine how the sun angle and those clouds created such beautiful, bright diffused light. It was dreamy! :)
