Banded Garden Spider (Argiope trifasciata)
PHOTOGRAPH INFO This photograph was taken today on a walk through some morning fog and mist. Spider webs are everywhere at this time of year. I must've shot 100 different webs this morning but this was my favorite. Post-processing: Shot with the Canon EOS 5D Thank you for visiting Durham Township! --Kathleen Comments
Such a lovely and delicate shot! Love how you placed the little fella in an inconspicuous corner as well as the tack-on DoF. :) Posted by PlasticTV on September 18, 2006 12:56 AMFantastic shot...Really perfect. I've been hunting for these over the past few days. We usually get a ton of these around here, even just outside my own door, but this year they have been scarce. I did find a lot of those really dense webs that lay flat on the tops of shrubs, of course no spiders anywhere near them (just my luck). Maybe I'll see some soon. We usually have a very large one right on the corner of the house near the front door in time for Halloween. Posted by Laurie on September 18, 2006 6:43 AMCool shot! Posted by Ted on September 18, 2006 7:01 AMSuper shot. Love spider webs and especially like the dew on it. Posted by Noreen on September 18, 2006 7:24 AMLovely detail and beautiful lighting. Posted by Craig on September 18, 2006 8:49 AMthis is really gorgeous shot. i like how my eyes travel fromt he top of the photo (from the web) to the bottom where the spider is :) Posted by armeen on September 18, 2006 10:08 AMSpectacular! When I saw the title I though, "ho hum, another spider shot," but the composition, the lighting, the DOF are flawless! Posted by Derek on September 18, 2006 11:03 AMNot your first great web site I think. The cropping is excellent. Thank you for the arachniphotoia. Posted by david Tinnon on September 18, 2006 2:08 PMOh wow. This is incredible. The DOF is perfect, it just draws the eye right into the center. Beautiful.
